How to Teach Your Kids Reading

Teach your child that reading is fun and educational process, both for the parents and the children themselves. You can teach your child to read at home, either for school at home or give your child the excess before he went to school. The manner and the right tactics, your child will be able to read at a glance.

Part 1 of 3: Start Early

 

Read books to your child regularly. As the saying goes, "ne can as usual". To attract children's interest in you, you have to read the book to him regularly. If possible, start when your child is still a baby, and continue until they enter school. Read books according to the level of their ability if they had been able to read; if your children are young, you may need to read a little book 3-4 day.

• Look for books that combine other sensory experiences while reading, to help the interaction with your child as she spoke. For example, look for a book whose pages textured, play a sound, or have a particular smell. 

 

Ask questions interactively. Even before your child learn to read, they can learn the understanding of the reading. When you tell them something, ask questions about the characters or the plot. For small children, the question could be like "There's not a dog? His name whom?". You can increase the difficulty of questions after reading ability level increases.

• Teach your children critical thinking skills by giving open questions about the story. However, this can only be done after your child aged four or five years.

 

Make books within easy reach of children. For what has a lot of books, but your child can not reach them? Keep books in a place that is not too high and on the playground, so children associate reading as play activities.

• Because children will often touch and read a book, choose a book that can be cleaned and does not have any particular memories value. The book kind of "pop-up", for example, is not suitable for small children.
